The world’s first blockchain and cryptocurrency stock exchange heads to Malta

A new partnership in Malta will introduce a world’s first early next year…

Malta continues to position itself as an attractive proposition to cryptocurrency and blockchain entrepreneurs, actively encouraging businesses to locate on the island. And the next step in this is the creation of what’s set to be the world’s first ever blockchain and cryptocurrency stock exchange

It’s going to be a subsidiary of the existing Malta Stock Exchange, who has inked a deal with OKEx to provide the required platform. As per the OKEx announcement, “the partnership was formalized in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in Valletta, Malta on July 19, 2018. Both parties will endeavor to finalize a Joint Venture to be established by Q3 2018”.

Once that joint company is in place, the plan will be to commence operations on the new exchange in January of next year. It’ll be a sizeable further step forward in Malta becoming a ‘blockchain island’.

More on the new exchange as we get it.
