Monero Rival Zcash Releases A Blog Post Regarding Failed Negotiation With The ECC
Monero has been gaining increased popularity in the crypto space, as more investors see in it a viable choice for investing.
Zcash has also been around for quite a while, and the people behind this project have been making increased efforts to make it remain relevant.
Zcash Foundation is surrounded by controversy
On the other hand, Smartereum notes that the non-profit organization behind Zcash – the Zcash Foundation has been surrounded with a lot of controversy regarding the use of Zcash trademark.
The online publication also notes that the Electric Coin Company has been in charge of the trademark from the very beginning.
The company had plans of sharing partial ownership for the use of the trademark.
It’s difficult for users to adhere to the Zcash terms
In a statement published on the Zcash public forum last week, the head of ECC said the following:
“The bottom line is that the previous plan to lock the trademark into a 2-of-2, double-veto governance structure with the Zcash Foundation has not, at least not yet, been implemented, and the trademark currently remains under the unilateral control of the Electric Coin Company.”
The head of the Zcash Foundation, Josh Cincinnati, said the following as reported by Smartereum:
“We are delaying our community sentiment collection and any decision-making regarding NU4 until the Electric Coin Company recommits to the 2-of-2 agreement that was already agreed upon.”
